Constructing Staffordshire’s primary objectives are to:
- Draw together Staffordshire’s entire construction industry supply chain to share best practice and innovation to make us more competitive and profitable.
- Influence Local Government, maintain strong links with educational training institutions and promote continuous improvement, learning and employment opportunities within the local construction industry so we generate growth and respond to new business opportunities.
- Provide marketing and networking activities to the local construction community; and develop/share exposure to local opportunities and the local supply chain to raise our profile and impact on Staffordshire.
The club is supported by Stoke on Trent College who provide administrative support and venues at no charge for club events. We also benefit from the support of Stoke on Trent City Council through their “Make it” brand, and CORE, in terms of venues for events. This support enables us to run events that are free of charge for members.
After 12 months of planning the club was re-launched in July 2013 at an event held at Stoke on Trent College, which was attended by over 50 Staffordshire based construction sector stakeholders. The event included a presentation by John Betty, who is Stoke on Trent City Council’s Director of Place, on their upcoming capital expenditure programme. The next event covering CDM is scheduled for Thursday 21st May 2015.
